February 10, 2012 - Fromage Friday at Hahn SLH Estate Visitor Center
Every Friday in the Visitor Center at Hahn SLH Estate we are featuring a complementary cheese & wine pairing to entice the palate, educate your pairing knowledge, and make new friends. The pairing will be during extended hours from 4-6pm.
This weeks featured fromage is the Gruyerre, Emmi of Switzerland. "Master cheesemakers since 1782, Emmi is the agent company for traditional coop of dairies and cheesemakers. This Gruyere is made just northeast of Lake Geneva in Western Switzerland. Aged in natural caves where the air and natural bacteria endow the cheese with a deep complexity, this cheese matures for at least a year. This cheese is smooth in texture and has rich, beefy flavors that are tempered by hints of apples and pears. Famously used in fondue recipes, this cheese melts fabulously well and is amazing in grilled cheese sandwiches, gratins, sauces, or just snacking."
February 10, 2012 - Clambake for a Cure at Fisherman's Wharf, Monterey CA
Mingle with celebrities, sports professionals, top chefs, PGA professionals and Hahn Winery. After the 2nd round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am there will be a strolling dinner, fine wines, dancing & one of a kind raffle items. All money raised will go into the continued battle against brain tumors.

February 11, 2012 - Valentine's Passport on River Road Wine Trail
The River Road Wine Trail hosts its annual Passport event that showcases 14 of the region's finest wine producers. Each of the 14 wineries will be pairing a gourmet food sample with one of their signature wines. Our Estate Chef Brian Overhauser wowed the crowds last year and is aiming to please once again. He will be pairing his culinary creations with our world renowned Pinot Noir and our opulent Rhone blend, GSM.

Join us from 12-2pm or 2-4pm for the second installment in a series of food & wine pairings. The series will be run consecutively on the 3rd Saturday of every month with two tapas prepared by Estate Chef Brian Overhauser. February will highlight the Hahn 2009 Petite Sirah; a rich and complex varietal that is sure to tantalize your senses. This bold beauty is available exclusively in the Visitor Center; 240 cases produced.

-International Medals for Hahn Winery!
At the 2011 Swiss Expovino competition, the Hahn Merlot 2009 and the Smith & Hook Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 both took home silver medals. The Expovina competition is the most important competition in Switzerland where more than 2,000 wines are evaluated by 150 jury members.

-Hahn Winery Wins Best Red Wine of the Year!
At the AWC Vienna 2010 International Wine Competition the Hahn Winery 2007 Pinot Noir has taken the entire competition. AWC Vienna is the largest officially recognized wine competition in the world. Nearly 11,000 wines from 1,733 producers representing 36 nations and five continents were blind tasted and evaluated anonymously.
At the end of the competition the judges had the good taste to recognize Hahn as producing the best Red Wine in the world. Congratulations to Paul and the winemaking team!
-Hahn Winery Green Certified!
The Hahn Winery/Smith & Hook Winery has become the first winery in Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz counties to be green certified by the Monterey Bay Area Green Business Program. The certification recognizes the winery’s efforts to exceed environmental regulatory regulations, prevent pollution and conserve natural resources.
